[Verse 1] First she tried a ghost sheet, white from head to toe, She floated past the kitchen—well, she tried to float, you know. “Boo!” she said, then tripped on her hem, The ghost went WHOOSH and bumped the stem! She practiced saying, “Grrrr!” real low, But sneezed instead: “A-CHOO-CHOO-CHOO!” Her monster walk went clomp-clomp-clomp, Her monster dance went bump-bump-bump! Then one loose bolt rolled down the street— She chased it with her giant feet! [Chorus] Costume, costume, what will she wear? Something spooky, something rare! She waved it once—POOF!—a cloud of glitter flew, It landed on the dog, the cat, and Grandpa too! She curtsied low, the curtains swayed, The tiny crown began to fade. She said, “I’m fancy, yes, it’s true— But this tutu pinches through and through!” [Bridge] So she thought and thought beneath the harvest moon, While crickets played a rattly tune. A pointed hat! A crooked broom! A cape that nearly filled the room! She cackled, “Hee-hee! I know what I’ll do!” Then the whole house shouted, “WITCHES DO!” [Final Chorus] Witchy costume, pointy hat, Purple cape and striped-up cat!
