Today, I was losing a dream, a little piece of love. My body was suffering, and my heart was bleeding. I was going through a miscarriage, with pain that seemed never-ending, with contractions and tears, not knowing how much longer I could endure. And although people were nearby, I felt alone in my room, because sometimes you can be surrounded by others and still feel an emptiness in your heart. But you, Tokyo, came to me, without questions, without conditions. You stayed by my side like my little guardian. You followed me around the house, to the bathroom and the kitchen too. You lay beside my body, as if saying, “I’ll be here.” And when the pain bent me over and I could no longer smile, you placed your little paws on my belly and stayed right there beside me. I don’t know if you understood my sadness, or if you knew what I had lost, but you understood that I was hurting and chose to stay there. You were my emotional support when I needed it most, my companion in the silence, the presence that held me close. Perhaps to others, you are just a cat, but today I want the world to know: while my body was saying goodbye to a life, you were caring for my wounded soul. And when I felt that no one could see me, you never stopped seeing me. When I needed companionship, you simply chose to love me. Thank you, my little Tokyo, for staying when it hurt the most. You couldn’t take away my pain, but you made the agony easier to bear. Sometimes love doesn’t speak, doesn’t ask questions, doesn’t make promises… it simply lies down beside you and stays until it passes. 🤍🐾
