At AJ’s on a Friday

Songtext

[Verse 1] Friday rolls in, we’re already on our way Same old crew, same corner, same things to say AJ’s door swings wide, there’s a grin behind the bar Marty says, “You’re late again,” like we came from very far [Pre-Chorus] You save us our usual, we slide into the night One round turns to stories and the timing feels just right [Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday, all my best friends around Trading jokes with the bartender, laughing way too loud Raise a glass to the good ones, let the long week disappear At AJ’s on a Friday, this is where we belong here [Verse 2] Jess tells the same story, somehow better every time Ben’s got a new impression and he’s working every line The bartender fires back, “That one’s getting old, my friend” We all crack up together, then he tells it once again [Pre-Chorus] Somebody picks a song, somebody knows the words Even the folks at the next table join the chorus that they heard [Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday, all my best friends around Trading jokes with the bartender, laughing way too loud Raise a glass to the good ones, let the long week disappear At AJ’s on a Friday, this is where we belong here [Bridge] No big plans for tomorrow, no place we need to be Just a booth, a bunch of old friends, and a night that runs carefree When the chairs go up and the last call’s in the air We’ll be making next week’s plans before we leave from there [Final Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday, all my best friends around Trading jokes with the bartender, laughing way too loud Raise a glass to the good ones, let the long week disappear At AJ’s on a Friday, this is where we belong here At AJ’s on a Friday, save our seats—we’ll meet you here!
