I bow to the One with the face of an elephant (Gajendra-vadana), who is embraced by His beloved seated on His left side; He is radiant with the crimson hue of vermilion powder and adorned with a crest of blue lotus buds. [1] Victorious is that Golden Mountain (Suvarna-shaila), whose form encompasses the entire cosmic cycle and whose golden groves resound with the music of the *Damari* nymphs. [2] We praise its three peaks—situated at the cardinal points of Indra (Harihaya), Nirruti, and Vayu (Maruta)—which serve as the abode for Brahma, Vishnu, Gauri, and Shiva. [3] In the center, I worship the supreme peak—towering four hundred *yojanas* high—which illuminates the horizon with the dazzling radiance of its gems, resembling clusters of brilliant jewels. [4] There, I bow to the city of the Primordial Knowledge (Adi-vidya)—crafted by the divine architect (Vishvakarma), spanning four hundred *yojanas* in circumference, and enchanting with its diverse ramparts. [5] I seek refuge in that magnificent outer rampart—encircling the city like a protective ring—which spans a circumference of one thousand six hundred *yojanas*. [6] To the north of that, at a distance of a *yojana*, lies the second rampart—resembling the resonant sound of a bell—which brings joy with its undulating, shimmering radiance. [7] In the space between the two ramparts, we worship the splendid grove—enlivened by the humming of bees—where the gentle, fragrant breeze flows freely. [8] May Mahakala—whose eyes are languid from the intoxication of nectar, and who is seated there embracing Bhadrakali (who is dark as a sapphire)—sport within my mind. [9] May the third enclosure—fashioned of copper and situated at the northern boundary of the previous one—bestow auspiciousness that endures as long as the moon and stars exist. [10] Between them, I contemplate the grove of *Kalpa* trees—adorned with gem-studded shoots, branches, and blossoms, and featuring basins rich with flowing nectar. [11] May the season of Spring—wielding the floral arrow and embraced by the youthful consorts Madhu and Madhava (whose eyes are restless like the *Chakora* bird)—protect me ceaselessly. [12] Bow to the fourth enclosure situated in the northern region—a rampart shaped like the letter 'Sa' (or a leaden bar), pure in the light of the moon, and featuring a cluster of peaks that soar towards the celestial path. [13] May our minds be ever attached to the *Santana* grove—located between the two ramparts—which is made delightful by the charming cooing of *Sarala* and *Kapota* birds. [14] May the Summer season—intense with the sun's heat yet with a heart softened by devotion to the Empress's feet, and accompanied by the months of *Shukra* and *Shuchi*—bestow upon us fame that lasts until the end of the cosmic cycle. [15] At its northern boundary stands a structure with towering peaks and fluttering golden banners. May the fifth rampart— —made of auspicious Arakuta metal—reveal our well-being. ॥ 16 ॥ And in the space between the ramparts, —where the fifth note of the cuckoo resounds amidst the blossoming trees— may the grove of Harichandana trees —whose roots are delightful—dispel all our distress. ॥ 17 ॥ There, surrounded on all sides by celestial damsels— —led by Sri and others—and resounding with the thunderous peals of Vajra, may the rainy season —the fulfiller of desires—bestow its blessings upon us. ॥ 18 ॥ At a distance of one *yojana*— —in the magnificent northern section— may the sixth rampart— —composed of the five sacred metals—bestow prosperity. ॥ 19 ॥ In the space between these two— —amidst the Mandara grove, ever-fragrant with sprouting divine blossoms— may my mind find delight —and freely wander in blissful recreation. ॥ 20 ॥
