Hey Dudes, White Shirt

Letra

[Verse 1] He wears those Hey Dudes like they came with the jeans, White shirt buttoned up, trying to look like a king. Bud Light sweating cold on the back of his hand, He says, “I’m just a little mad,” then he’s mad at the band. [Chorus] He’s got a bad day and a bottle gone flat, A tongue on the rim and a spit in the hat. He says he’s not gay, then he blushes at the thought, And swears he’s the saddest man in the whole damn lot. Hey Dudes, white shirt, Bud Light in the sun— He’s a mess, but he’s still having fun. [Verse 2] He licks his tongue like he’s checking the weather, Spits in the gravel, then complains about the weather. He’s got a heart full of thunder and a head full of rain, And a half-empty cooler that he calls his main plan. [Bridge] Maybe he’s scared, maybe he’s just not sure, Maybe the truth’s a door he won’t open yet. He can be angry, he can be blue, And still be a man who’s figuring it out. [Final Chorus] He’s got a bad day and a bottle gone flat, A tongue on the rim and a spit in the hat. He says he’s not gay, but he’s learning the thought, And he’s more than the worst thing he’s said to himself. Hey Dudes, white shirt, Bud Light in the sun— He’s a mess, but he’s still having fun. [Outro] Hey Dudes, white shirt, one more cold one— He’s still figuring out who he’s become.
