מילים

[Verse 1] Saturday afternoon, CC doors swung wide Billy saw Gretchen, and the whole room changed inside She turned, and there it was, the kind of look you keep Gretchen’s eyes like an angel’s, bright enough to make you believe [Pre-Chorus] He asked if she’d join him, she smiled and said, “All right” By the time the sun was sinking, something felt just right [Chorus] From that first round of golf, we were falling into place Two hearts finding their own fairway, mile by mile, day by day Now it’s Michigan mornings, Sandy Hook skies Jetskis cutting the water, dust trails on the drive Off-road roads and a tee time, laughing as we go Billy and Gretchen, making life their own [Verse 2] That first date on the course, a little friendly game Every turn and every green made him glad he came Soon the talks ran longer, soon the years ran sweet A love built in the little things, and every place they’d meet [Pre-Chorus] From the lakes up north to the shore where the gulls fly They keep choosing one another with the open road ahead [Chorus] From that first round of golf, we were falling into place Two hearts finding their own fairway, mile by mile, day by day Now it’s Michigan mornings, Sandy Hook skies Jetskis cutting the water, dust trails on the drive Off-road roads and a tee time, laughing as we go Billy and Gretchen, making life their own [Bridge] Let the years roll on like water past the bow There’s another course to play, another road to know Every Saturday still carries that first spark And every hand in every hand still says, “You’re my heart” [Final Chorus] From that first round of golf, we were falling into place Two hearts finding their own fairway, mile by mile, day by day Through Michigan mornings, Sandy Hook skies Jetskis cutting the water, dust trails on the drive Off-road roads and a tee time, laughing as we go Billy and Gretchen, still making life their own Billy and Gretchen, wherever love can go [Outro] Saturday afternoon, that first hello And all the good years still unfolding down the road
