Intro: Dad: “Where we eatin’?” [Female]: Mom: “You pick.” Dad: “I picked last time.” [Female]: Oma: “I’m good with anything…” (Beat) **”…unless it’s too spicy.” [Kid]: Son: “Can I get chicken wings ?” (Band kicks in.) ⸻ Verse 1 Friday night’s finally here, Nobody’s cooking this year. Mom says, “Y’all pick, I don’t care…” Now we’re arguing everywhere. “Texas Roadhouse?” “Too long a wait.” “Chili’s?” “Maybe…” “Bubba’s?” “Sounds alright.” Oma smiles, “I’m good with anything…” Then asks, “Do they still have that apple pie?” Little man in the backseat… “I just want fries!” ⸻ Pre-Chorus GPS keeps changing routes, Everybody throwing opinions out. Windows down, we’re laughing loud… Tonight’s what it’s all about. ⸻ Chorus Table for six… maybe more, Waiting by the hostess door. Grandson coloring dinosaurs, Cracker crumbs across the floor. Pass the rolls, Pass the fries, Everybody reaching for somebody’s side. Texas Roadhouse… raise ’em high! Chili’s… sizzlin’ tonight! Red Robin… yum! Now the fun has just begun! No matter where we all sit down, Family’s what this night’s about. Family dinner… here we go! Family dinner… don’t be slow! Table for six… maybe more! ⸻ Verse 2 Hostess says, “Just ten more minutes.” Dad laughs, “That’s what they said ten minutes ago.” Grandson’s coloring every page, Counting fish inside the tank. Server smiles, “What can I get?” Dad says, “I’ll take a Coke… …or a Blue Moon if it’s on tap.” Mom wants water with lemon no ice. Little man says, “Mac and cheese… …and fries… …and MORE fries!” Oma’s talking with the waitress Like they’ve been friends for years. Somebody ordered nachos… Now they’re everybody’s nachos.. ⸻ Bridge “Who’s paying?” Silence… Everybody suddenly studying the menu. “I got it.” “No, I got it.” “You paid last time.” “We’re splitting it.” “Fine…” “But I’m getting dessert!” (Claps • Bass only) Family dinner… HERE WE GO! ⸻ Final Chorus Table for six… maybe more, Waiting by the hostess door.
