Kenya's Got a Crush

Letra

[Verse 1] Kenya’s got a poster tucked behind the door Practices his cool walk crossing the bedroom floor Chin Lee walks by and he forgets his lines Drops his keys, says “hello,” then checks the time [Pre-Chorus] His friends all grin, he turns bright red He’s got a whole rom-com running in his head [Chorus] Kenya’s got a crush, everybody knows Trying to play it cool, but his whole face shows If they laugh, he laughs along, says, “That’s okay” He’ll ask Chin Lee out someday Kenya’s got a crush, let the rumors fly One brave little “hi” and he might just try No need to make a scene or put somebody down Love makes a clown of the coolest guy in town [Verse 2] He picked out a shirt and borrowed cologne Sent one little message, then stared at his phone His cousin says, “Just talk, don’t rehearse all night” Kenya says, “I’m ready,” then loses the invite [Pre-Chorus] His friends all grin, he turns bright red He’s got a whole rom-com running in his head [Chorus] Kenya’s got a crush, everybody knows Trying to play it cool, but his whole face shows If they laugh, he laughs along, says, “That’s okay” He’ll ask Chin Lee out someday Kenya’s got a crush, let the rumors fly One brave little “hi” and he might just try No need to make a scene or put somebody down Love makes a clown of the coolest guy in town [Bridge] Maybe she’ll say yes, maybe she’ll say no Either way, he finally lets the brave words go “Want to grab a soda? We could talk awhile” Chin Lee says, “Sure,” and Kenya finds his smile [Final Chorus] Kenya’s got a crush, everybody knows Trying to play it cool, but his whole face shows If they laugh, he laughs along, says, “That’s okay” He asked Chin Lee out today Kenya’s got a crush, let the rumors fly One brave little “hi” and the answer’s “why not, hi” No need to make a scene or put somebody down Love makes a hero of the shyest guy in town [Outro] Kenya’s got a crush He finally said hello
