Followed the Goat

Letra

[Verse 1] We met by the diner at a quarter to nine, Six bikes lined up like a chrome parade line. Marty said, “Follow me, I know every turn,” Then took the first exit with a map upside down. [Pre-Chorus] We passed the same red barn, then we passed it once more, Someone’s GPS kept yelling, “Recalculating—what for?” [Chorus] We’re lost, we’re lost, but we’re riding in style, Gravel in our boots and a grin for a mile. The road got skinny, the scenery got weird, Now we’re waving at a goat like it’s part of the gear. Hey! (Hey!) Which way? (Which way?) Marty says he’s sure—so we’ll be here all day! [Verse 2] The pavement gave up by a mailbox marked “Lee,” Then the tires went crunch like a bowl of rice crispy. A sign said “Dead End,” Marty nodded, “That’s fine,” “Dead ends are just roads that ran out of ideas.” [Pre-Chorus] We tried turning around in a space meant for two, Now the whole group’s doing a three-point debut. [Chorus] We’re lost, we’re lost, but we’re riding in style, Gravel in our boots and a grin for a mile. The road got skinny, the scenery got weird, Now we’re waving at a goat like it’s part of the gear. Hey! (Hey!) Which way? (Which way?) Marty says he’s sure—so we’ll be here all day! [Bridge] A farmer leaned over his fence with a wave, “Town’s that-a-way, if you’re feeling brave.” Marty checked his phone, then he checked it again, “It says we’re five minutes from where we’ve been!” [Instrumental] [Final Chorus] We’re lost, we’re lost, but we’re riding in style, Gravel in our boots and a grin for a mile. We found the highway, then the diner, then home, Marty led the way—by following the goat! Hey! (Hey!) Which way? (Which way?) Next ride, Marty rides in the back all day! [Outro] He said, “I know a shortcut.” We all said, “Nope.” Then the goat took the lead—and we followed the goat.
