Rangers, Ride On

Songtext

[Intro] New York, are you ready? Raise your voices, here we go! [Verse 1] April came with a hard-earned chance, Madison Square got to its feet; The Rangers took that long road north, With grit in every stride and beat. The Flyers stood across the ice, The old division had its say; But New York kept on pressing through, And sent them home in six that day. [Chorus] Oh, Rangers, ride on, carry that flame! Blue, red, and white—we’re calling your name! Through every battle, through every round, New York stands tall when the puck comes down! Sing it out, let the whole town know: The Rangers are ready—let’s go, let’s go! [Verse 2] The Islanders waited, fierce and proud, A city rivalry burning bright; The Rangers answered every challenge, And took the series in six nights. Then Montreal, the mighty Canadiens, With the Cup just within their reach; New York fought with heart and honor, Though the final proved beyond their breach. [Chorus] Oh, Rangers, ride on, carry that flame! Blue, red, and white—we’re calling your name! Through every battle, through every round, New York stands tall when the puck comes down! Sing it out, let the whole town know: The Rangers are ready—let’s go, let’s go! [Bridge] They didn’t lift the Cup that spring, But no one could erase that run; They made the Garden shake with hope, And showed what New York hearts had done. So keep that banner high above, Keep every hard-fought memory; The road was bold, the faith was strong, And ’79 lives in our story! [Final Chorus] Oh, Rangers, ride on, carry that flame! Blue, red, and white—we’re calling your name! Through every battle, through every round, New York stands tall when the puck comes down! Sing it out, let the whole town know: The Rangers are ready—let’s go, let’s go! [Outro] New York! New York! Rangers—ride on!
