The Warpath Through the Grove
The Crimson Shadow became fury incarnate.
From the edge of the forest, he began to carve a path of unrelenting death. Blades of void and light danced at his sides. Blood, cursed fire, and shadow sprayed from his limbs with every movement. He was silent, but the world around him screamed.He did not count his kills. He did not slow. The trees caught fire behind him. The beasts exploded into rot and glass. But still he surged forward. His only thought was her.
He felt her, Faint, and Flickering a song pressed thin beneath too many weights.
And even though the gods wove more beasts in his way he ran faster.
The Last Spell
When he reached her, the forest had already stopped breathing.
At the sacred center of the grove, beneath the largest sakura tree in all existence (Shinjubana), the First Blossom Ren stood alone Nine tails trailing behind her, weaving in time with a chant that shimmered like snowfall. Her skin was aglow with carved runes, sigils etched deep into her flesh to bind the unbindable. Her eyes were locked on the beast before her Kairoz Veth towered above her, its form a shifting wound in the fabric of reality. Bones flickered through shadow. Teeth pierced light. It screamed in silence, fighting the seals pressing it into submission. She was sealing it, and it was almost done. Then it struck, One claw massive, skeletal, wreathed in void slashed through the air and tore open her chest.
The Death of Starlight
Vyrn caught her before her body hit the ground.
He fell to his knees in blood and splinters, cradling her broken form. Her robes were torn, her wound gaping, blood soaking the roots of the First Blossom. His hands flew to her chest, energy pouring from his palms violent, and desperate. The magic flickered and surged, burning through her veins like lightning But it couldn’t close the wound. Her soul was already leaving. “No—no, no—Ren, stay with me.” His voice cracked as he pressed harder. “I’m here. I made it. Just… please…”She opened her eyes slowly. Her vision blurred with light and loss, But when she saw him, she smiled weak, bloodied, but real. “You always make it,” she whispered. “Why didn’t you wait?” he begged. “I could’ve..should’ve.” “You would’ve stopped me,” she said, her voice like falling petals. “And this was never yours to stop.” She coughed, blood running from the corner of her lips. “They came for you. But I made them remember me instead.” A pause. Her tails, one by one, began to dissolve into cherry blossoms rising to take their place on Shinjubanna like drifting stars finally allowed to rest. “You… brought me light.;Not the kind that burns;The kind that lets you breathe.” “You brought me something worth protecting.” Her hand reached up, trembling, and pressed to his cheek. “And you’ll never be alone. Not really. I’ll be in every whisper of the trees. Every glimmer of moonlight. Every time you choose kindness over rage.” A final breath left her lips, as soft as a lullaby.
