2 Red roses

Once upon a time, two rose seeds were sown.

Laid far apart in the earth, alone.

Before they could take root and stay,

The wind carried them far away,

Far from the place

Where they were laid.

A new land,

And fertile ground,

Became the base

Where roots were found.

The two rose seeds,

In their newfound home,

Began to thrive,

No longer alone.

Slowly, they grew into the flowers they were,

Two roses, blooming pure.

Side by side, they reached for the sun,

Becoming the fairest blooms under anyone.

Each was different, in their own special way,

Each more beautiful, day by day.

But they longed to be more than mere flowers,

Driven by a will that defied nature's powers.

Their petals turned crimson, a vibrant hue,

A symbol of effort, of something true.

Blood flowed through these roses two.

What shouldn't have been,

Became real and seen.

Nature allowed this wondrous sight,

For their will surpassed nature's might.

And so, these two roses became something new:

Two people, one he, one she – a love so true.

A man and a woman, standing as one,

Bound together under the sun.

Blood now flowed within their veins,

A sign of love that still remains.

And to this day, in memory and token,

A promise unbroken, a vow unspoken,

They gift each other, as love has chosen,

Two red roses.
