Big Plans, Small

Şarkı Sözleri

[Intro] I came prepared to look impressive. I brought a folder. It’s empty. [Verse 1] I meal-prepped on Sunday, felt like a king, Six tiny containers, six identical things. Labeled “Monday,” “Tuesday”—that was my plan, Then I ate Wednesday’s lunch while I stood by the pan. My fitness app says, “You’ve been sitting all day,” I said, “That’s not true—I rolled my chair halfway.” Bought a fancy blender to get my life right, Now it’s holding loose batteries and one old kite. [Chorus] I got big plans, small follow-through, A brand-new notebook with one thing to do: “Get organized”—wrote it down, felt proud, Lost the notebook in a very organized crowd. Hey! I’m doing my best, that’s the official report, I showed up on time—at the wrong airport. Big plans, small follow-through, If life gives me lemons, I’ll ask, “Who are you?” [Verse 2] I tried online dating with a confident pose, My profile says “hiking”—I own hiking clothes. The trail was a hill by the grocery store, I got winded deciding between two kinds of floor. My smart watch buzzed: “Time to stand and move,” I stood up so fast that I startled the room. Then it said, “Great job!”—I said, “Thanks, little screen,” We’re both in a friendship that’s mostly routine. [Bridge] I made a to-do list, it’s beautiful, neat, Number one: make a list. Number two: find a seat. Number three: do the things that I put on the page— That list has been waiting since some other age. Big plans, small follow-through, If life gives me lemons, I’ll ask, “Who are you?” [Outro] Tomorrow I’m changing. I’ve got it all planned. I wrote “start tomorrow” right here on my hand. Wait—what does this say? I can’t read the ink. I’ll check in the morning. I need time to think.
