Google Meet voice changer
Google Meet runs in your browser and hears whichever microphone you pick. Voices AI Live turns your real mic into an AI voice and hands Meet a virtual microphone - no Chrome extension required.
Works with Google Meet in Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, and other desktop browsers on Windows 10+ and Apple Silicon Macs. The Meet mobile app is not supported. Not affiliated with Google.
Download the free app for Windows or Mac and accept the virtual microphone install. Restart if your computer asks you to.
Preview the voices in the app - or clone your own from a 5-second recording - and select one.
On the pre-join screen, open the microphone menu and choose CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) on Windows or Voices AI Virtual Mic on Mac. Already in a call? Open More options > Settings > Audio.
Allow microphone access if your browser asks, then join the meeting.
Browser voice changer extensions apply simple effects inside a single tab. Voices AI Live works at the system level instead: it converts your voice with an AI model on your computer and exposes it as a microphone, so it works in Meet and every other tab or desktop app at the same time.
If your Google account has Meet noise cancellation, turn it off under Settings > Audio - it is designed for raw microphones and can make a converted voice choppy. Use headphones so the meeting audio does not reach your real microphone.
Character voices are great for language practice, storytelling, and team games. Let people know when you are using one, and never use an AI voice to impersonate a teacher, colleague, or anyone else.
Reload the Meet tab after starting Voices AI Live. If it is still missing, quit and reopen your browser, or restart your computer to finish the virtual microphone install.
Allow microphone access for meet.google.com in your browser's site settings. On Mac, also allow your browser in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
Turn off Meet noise cancellation and close tabs or apps that are using your GPU heavily.
Use headphones. Speaker audio leaking into your real microphone gets converted and sent back to everyone.
