I sometimes hang with the virtuous, feel like the worst of us,
Quoting Greta all day, like it’s a moral trust.
They say, “Yar yar, just do better, send your MP a letter,”
But I wonder, man, is Greta really our trendsetter?
She’s got dreams on blast, teenage memes so fast,
Child-like screams while the climate fades to the past.
“Does the horseshoe theory got a card to play?
Point me straight to the path of the middle way.”
See, they love the stage, love the fight, the right to be right,
Like they’re casting a curse, all the world in their sight.
They move first to prove that the Earth’s gonna lose,
Deliberate groove, only doom in the news.
“Does the horseshoe theory got a card to play?
Point me straight to the path of the middle way.”
“You’re wrong, I’m bright, and my stance is light,
Full of spite if you don’t toe my line of sight.”
With a smirk and a sneer, they grease up the gears,
“For the kids flipping lids through these eco-fears.”
The climate is crashing, they’re done with the fakes,
No time for relaxing, no room for mistakes.
But then someone shouts, “Back to balling today,
Netflix is calling, and Barbie’s here to stay.”
Back and forth, the pendulum sways,
While the middle gets lost in the noise of the fray.
Between virtue and vice, there’s a price to pay,
Wonder if wisdom’s on that middle way.
