Taco gone
Mariachi, classical guitarLyrics
Rework this into a tune reminiscent of Blue Bayou
Sing the chorus in Spanish as well as English
I have seen this stand on corner each night, a couple folding tables and an impromptu kitchen, I have never made it there but I was determined tonight. Ive only had two that the nearby gas station man shared. So divine.
The street is quiet, the air is cool,
The midnight hour, my usual rule.
I walk with hope, my stomach bare,
To where the street tacos fill the air.
But tonight, the corner is cold and still,
No sizzling grill, no hands to fill
The warm tortillas, spiced just right—
They’re always here, except for tonight.
My heart sinks low, I stand alone,
The emptiness chills me to the bone.
Where are the flavors, the lights, the sound?
Only silence meets me, no crowd around.
I waited all day for this simple delight,
But now I am lost in the quiet night.
So sad, so anxious, I long for the fare,
But the street tacos are just not there.
I heard the cops came, and shut them down
