Lyrics
In a land where shadows stretch and creep,
Where truth is hidden, buried deep,
A few stood firm, with hearts of flame,
Who followed truth, not seeking fame.
The world around was veiled in lies,
And many turned from seeking skies,
But there were those, both calm and wise,
Who saw through the fear and despised the lies.
They spoke not loud, but in their way,
With speech as sharp as light of day,
Refused to fall to force or fist,
But stood with words that would resist.
The mighty powers, blind and cold,
Declared the free ones brash and bold,
As dangers to the world they sought,
While truth and light was all they brought.
They sowed their tales in mainstream streams,
And turned dissent to twisted dreams,
But those who knew, saw through the veil,
For light of truth would never fail.
Though labeled wrong, though cast aside,
They would not bend, they would not hide,
For flesh and blood was not the foe,
But unseen powers that sought to grow.
They stood not armed with sword or knife,
But guarded still with steadfast life,
With praise upon their lips, they stayed,
And let no fear or hate invade.
"Let others rise, let others fall,
But we will stand through it all.
For we are not the violent hand,
Our speech, our truth, will be our stand."
And though the world may close its ear,
And though the mighty threaten fear,
They did not back, they did not flee,
They stood, in love, in faith, in free.
For in the silence of the few,
Where voices rise for what is true,
A greater force begins to rise,
A strength unseen by worldly eyes.
So let the dark do what it must,
For we are grounded, and we trust,
That truth will reign, when day is done,
And light will shine, when battles won.
So sing the song of those who knew,
Who would not bend, who stayed the true,
And let the world, in time, behold,
The ones who never feared the cold.
For they are many, though unseen,
The ones who guard what once has been,
And from their silence, strength will grow,
Until the world, at last, will know.
