Let There Be

Lời bài hát

[Intro – Whispered male solo; low strings] Before the first dawn broke the night, Before the stars were spun, The Spirit moved above the deep; The work of God begun. No mortal hand had shaped the earth, No human voice was heard, Then through the dark the Father spoke Creation through His Word. [Choir enters – Thunderous] LET THERE BE LIGHT! And light came rushing in! The darkness yielded to His voice; The morning did begin. LET THERE BE LIGHT! Let earth and heaven sing! By Him all things were brought to life; All glory to the King! [Verse 1 – Sweeping orchestra] He set the waters in their bounds, Called dry land from the sea, And dressed the hills in fields of green, And every fruitful tree. He hung the sun to mark the days, The moon to guard the night; The stars shone out across the deep Like lanterns burning bright. [Choir – Joyful] And God saw all that He had made, And called it very good! The earth was filled with life and song; His glory over all! [Verse 2 – Warm piano, gentle strings] He formed the man from earthly dust And breathed the breath of life; He placed him in a garden fair And gave to him a wife. Bone of his bone and flesh of flesh, Together, unashamed, They heard the footsteps of their Lord, And knew the voice that named. [Male solo – Reverent] The everlasting Word was there, The Son before His birth; The One whom we know as Jesus Christ Walked in the garden of the earth. [Chorus – Full Southern Baptist choir] O Lord, how wonderful Your works! How faithful are Your ways! The heavens tell Your majesty, The earth resounds with praise! From dust below to stars above, Let all creation sing: Holy, holy, holy Lord, Our everlasting King! [Transition – Strings darken; distant drum] But one tree stood within that place, And one command was given: Of every tree they freely ate Save one forbidden to them. [Verse 3 – Low male solo, tense] Then came the serpent, smooth of tongue: “Did God say you would die? Your eyes will open; you will be Like God,” he breathed the lie. She saw the fruit, she took and ate; To Adam too she gave. And with one choice they turned away From Him who life had made. [Sudden silence] Their eyes were opened, not to crowns, But nakedness and shame. Among the trees they hid themselves When their Creator came. [Male solo – Almost spoken] “Adam, where are you?” The garden held its breath. The voice that called the world to life Now called a man toward death. [Choir – Mournful] O Adam, why did you turn away? O Eve, what have you done? The earth shall bear the weight of sin, And death shall claim each son. [Verse 4 – Grieving strings] The ground would yield its thorns and briars; Their bread would cost them sweat. With pain and sorrow life would come; The dust would claim them yet. But even as the judgment fell, The Lord did not depart; He clothed the pair in garments, And spoke hope into the dark. [Bridge – One voice; orchestra slowly rising] O ancient serpent, hear the word: Your triumph shall not stand. A Seed shall come of woman’s line To break your cruel command. You shall strike against His heel, But He shall crush your head; The wound He bears shall not prevail; Your reign shall end instead. [Choir – Building] A promise in the garden! A light no night can hide! The Word who walked with Adam Would one day come and die! [Male solo – Climactic] The Son who spoke the world awake Would take our flesh and bone; The Lord who called to fallen man Would come to bring him home! [Final chorus – Full orchestra, immense choir] LET THERE BE LIGHT! Let the darkness hear! The promised Seed of woman Shall conquer sin and fear! LET THERE BE LIGHT! Let the mighty heavens ring! The heel is wounded, death is broken; Christ our God is King! [Choir – Call and response] Who called to Adam in the garden? THE ETERNAL WORD! Who took our flesh to heal the fallen? CHRIST THE LORD! Who crushed the serpent through His dying? JESUS CHRIST! Who rose and trampled down our death? THE LORD OF LIFE! [Grand finale – Choir and orchestra] From Eden’s trees to Calvary’s tree, From dust to empty grave, The One through whom the world was made Has come His world to save! The gates of death cannot hold Him; The ancient foe is cast down! The Son of God, the Son of Man, In glory wears the crown! LET THERE BE LIGHT! LET THERE BE LIGHT! The darkness shall not reign! The Word who called creation forth Has raised our life again! [Final chord – Full choir] Glory to the Father! Glory to the Son! Glory to the Holy Spirit! Three in One! Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ our God has won! AMEN!
