Poor Little Rich Girl

Songtekst

[Intro] Oi, mind the puddle—there goes the chauffeur! [Verse 1] She’s got a house with a staircase wide, A silver spoon and a staff outside. Her breakfast arrives on a silver tray, She says the toast is too brown today. [Chorus] Poor little rich girl, what a terrible life, The pool’s much too chilly, the cake’s got a slice! Poor little rich girl, the world’s so unfair— Her pony looks bored and her pearls need a repair! [Verse 2] She’s got three coats for a change in the weather, A closet the size of our street put together. Her dad bought a sports car, red as a rose, She hates how it parks and she hates how it goes. [Chorus] Poor little rich girl, what a terrible life, The pool’s much too chilly, the cake’s got a slice! Poor little rich girl, the world’s so unfair— Her pony looks bored and her pearls need a repair! [Backing Vocals] Oh dear! What a shame! (Which one’s her name?) Oh dear! What a plight! (She’s had two baths tonight!) [Bridge] She rang up the papers: “My troubles are vast! The butler said ‘certainly’—but he said it too fast!” She sighed at the mirror, “I’m terribly blue.” It sighed back, “At least you’ve got two!” [Final Chorus] Poor little rich girl, what a terrible life, The pool’s much too chilly, the cake’s got a slice! Poor little rich girl, now dry every tear— There’s room in the limo for one more complaint, dear! [Outro] One more complaint, dear! Oh, do be fair! She’s got everything— And nothing to wear!
