Pleading for a lover to stay when my soul already knows I’ve lost him. When all I feel is today and the night’s passing away, I pray and still, I say I lost him when one day comes along. I will try to be strong when I see him far away. I know I can’t leave and pray he’ll stay, but maybe maybe I haven’t lost him so I’ll try on that day to be not a man far away but in reach of the hope that maybe he’ll stay one day two days maybe more but I know in time he’ll reach for the door and then I’ve lost him all again as I write this song I fear that I will never be next to my dear The reason I live the reason I cry the reason I smile until I die, where I truly love him his love for me is leading always. He is retreating with something inside him is there for me, and there for him he cannot deny and in that even lost, I’ve never really lost him so with hope I sing this song that maybe he’ll come along and be the man I need because I cannot survive. Some things are shareable, but what is unbearable to me is the thought of losing him for all but I see is the quality within him so very deep inside that only I can touch it if only to do and hide, but only in that moment for those seconds we steal away I even know then he will never be mine to stay, but in those few moments I live a lifetime knowing even that I’ve lost him for those seconds he is mine if only you’ll give that moment more seconds of the day, I would be happy knowing I’ve only lost the game he plays, and in those moments, I shall live the rest of my life through Troy in trouble and pain and strife I know that I will never lose in my heart.
