A hundred years passed, and the world had turned, Joe’s legend grew faint, and his hunger had burned. The village was changed, but the old tales did fade, For times had moved on, and new hearts were made. The stories of Joe, now whispered in hushed tones, Were no longer believed, like forgotten old moans. What was once feared, and held in great dread, Had become just a memory, like dust, left for dead. But Joe, the old beast, with his hunger still there, Couldn’t accept that the world didn’t care. He howled in the dark, through the forests he cried, Trying to reach them, but his voice couldn’t glide. “Why won’t you hear me? Why won’t you change? I gave you my dream, but now it's all strange!” But the world had moved on, too busy, too fast, Joe’s hunger was forgotten, like the past. The villagers had long since embraced new ways, Their hearts no longer swayed by the passions of old days. Joe’s dream of turning them, with hunger and pride, Had been buried with time, no longer to guide. The world was different now, in ways he couldn’t see, No longer were they bound to his twisted decree. Joe tried and he tried, but his voice couldn’t break, Through the barriers of time, and the changes they'd make. He longed for the days when his power was true, But the world had moved on, and Joe had no view. For he was a relic, a beast of the past, A legend, forgotten, that couldn’t last. So Joe, the old beast, faded into the night, His hunger now quiet, his dream lost to the light. The village had changed, and so had the world, Leaving behind a story, once unfurled.
