Every morning in the shop, about a quarter after eight, Mike and Fisher start a battle and everybody knows to wait. A simple conversation turns into a full debate, About wiring, tools, procedures, and the proper torque plate. Mike says, "That's not how we do it!" with a finger in the air, Fisher's already got three manuals proving he don't care. Five minutes later Mike is grumbling, shaking his head around, 'Cause somehow Fisher's got another fact to shut him down. Chorus 🎶 Here comes the Mike and Fisher Show, Round three hundred and sixty-four. Mike gets mad, Fisher gets smug, And everybody's taking score. One says "follow the checklist," One says "I got a better way." The argument starts at breakfast, And somehow lasts all day. 🎶 Verse 2 Mike fires up the grill outside, tryin' to cook some lunch, Fisher sees a project opportunity and starts to hunch. Says, "The fuel flow's inefficient, I can optimize that thing." Next thing you know he's rewired it and added Bluetooth wiring. Got sensors on the propane tank, a dashboard and a screen, Calculating burger temperatures with graphs you've never seen. The grill now sends emails and tracks efficiency by hour, But nobody can start the damn thing without external power. Chorus 🎶 Here comes the Mike and Fisher Show, Round three hundred and sixty-four. Mike gets mad, Fisher gets smug, And everybody's taking score. One says "keep it simple," One says "trust the engineering." Meanwhile the rest of us are watching, With popcorn and good hearing. 🎶 Bridge Then Mike grabs his clipboard and puts his QC hat on, Starts inspecting Fisher's masterpiece from dusk until dawn. Finds three loose connectors, half a harness hanging free, And asks, "You gonna finish this, or is that phase three?" Fisher says, "It's technically complete." Mike says, "Not even close." Fisher says, "The important parts are done." Mike nearly has a stroke. Verse 3 Now Fisher's brilliant, everybody knows that's true, Can diagnose a problem before it even bothers you. But sometimes he'll get halfway done and move on to something new, Leaving Mike to find the missing bolts and wonder what to do. Meanwhile Mike's inspecting everything from top to bottom side, Looking for a reason he can say his concerns were justified. And every time he finds one, you can see the satisfaction grow, Like he just won the Super Bowl of saying "I told you so." Final Chorus 🎶 Here comes the Mike and Fisher Show, The greatest feud you've ever seen. Like two high school kids arguing, Over things both think they mean.
