Revolution! Washington! Hamilton joined the fight, Served beside the general And fought at Yorktown’s height. Then came the brand-new government— “How should this country run?” Hamilton wanted federal strength To help make many states act as one. Treasury Secretary— National credit, debt, and banks, Manufacturing, commerce, trade— Those were Hamilton’s ranks. Jefferson said, “Hold on there! The states need power too!” Agriculture, smaller government— A very different view. Washington warned of factions, Adams favored federal might, Madison shifted through the years As the parties formed left and right. But don’t stick modern labels On eighteenth-century men— “Republican” and “Democrat” today Didn’t mean the same thing then! And Hamilton’s story ended After politics and fame, When Aaron Burr and Hamilton Met in a deadly duel by name. Hamilton was forty-seven— Or forty-nine, depending on Which birth year historians accept— And then his life was gone. CHORUS 🎵 Read the story, learn the context, Ask what happened—and why! History isn’t names and dates, It’s people choosing sides. Ideas have consequences, And arguments shape the day— So learn what people REALLY meant Before you label them today! 🎵 ⸻ 🏛️ VERSE 3 — CONSERVATIVE, LIBERAL & POLITICAL WORDS “Conservative” generally means Preserve what has been tried, Tradition, order, institutions— Change more carefully over time. “Liberal” historically emphasizes Liberty and individual rights, Though modern American liberalism Has developed in different ways with time. And parties are organizations— Not identical to philosophies! A Democrat is party membership; A liberal is an ideology. Republicans are a political party; Conservative describes a view— They often overlap in modern America, But the words aren’t identical too. So when studying politics, remember: Define the terms before the fight! Ask, “What era? What issue? What meaning?” Context helps us get it right. ⸻ 📖 VERSE 4 — THE BEATITUDES Then up the mountain Jesus speaks, And listen to the words He brings: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is heaven’s kingdom.” “Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall comfort know.” “Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit earth below.” Those who hunger after righteousness Will one day have their fill, Mercy for the merciful, Pure hearts shall see God still. Blessed are the peacemakers, God’s children they are called, And those persecuted for righteousness— The kingdom is theirs through all. Not “blessed because life is easy,” Not “blessed because you won”— Christ calls blessed those who trust Him And receive what He has done. CHORUS 🎵 Rejoice and be glad! Blessed are you, holy are you! Walk as children of the light, Seeking what is good and true, Discern what pleases God In everything you say and do.
