I wake up every morning, see the world and shake my head, People chasing money while their souls are underfed. Everybody talking loud but barely meaning what they said, And half the folks with open hearts get hurt instead. I see a man work overtime and still can’t pay his rent, While somebody lies online and somehow gets influence. People sell opinions like they’re speaking heaven-sent, But truth gets interrupted every time it gets intense. And I ain’t saying life is bad, I’m saying life is strange, ‘Cause people swear they want results but never want to change. Everybody wants the sunshine, nobody wants the rain, But pressure builds the strongest minds and struggle builds the frame. I still believe in kindness even when it looks naïve, ‘Cause hate is getting easier for everybody to achieve. I’d rather build a bridge than spend my whole life throwing grief, And I’d rather speak in truth than make a living selling beef. The world will make you bitter if you let it take control, It’ll slowly drain your energy and harden up your soul. It’ll tell you chase attention like attention is the goal, While the people with the loudest voice feel empty at the core. I know some good men overlooked and bad men getting praise, I know some real ones working hard in fifty-hour days. I know some mothers staying strong while carrying the weight, And somehow still find love enough to put food on every plate. That’s why I try to stay grounded when everything shifts, ‘Cause life will test your patience with its back-to-back hits. One minute people love you, then they act like you don’t exist, But a solid heart survives what temporary love forgets. I learned the world keeps spinning whether you complain or not, So I focus on the things that can’t be taken once I’m gone. Like loyalty and honesty and treating people right, ‘Cause character means more than being famous overnight. And maybe I sound disappointed, I guess that’s partly true, I just know how good this world could be if people followed through. If they loved a little deeper and they judged a little less, Then maybe everybody wouldn’t walk around so stressed. But I still see hope living underneath the damage done, I still see good people shining brighter than the sun. And I’d rather spread peace than pretend I’m being tough, ‘Cause the world already hard enough.
