Fill Up Hootie

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Chew wakes up with a grin on his face One old sock in a velvet case He calls it Hootie, lucky as can be Keeps it tucked where the whole world can't see [Pre-Chorus] He says, "Every man needs a secret friend" And Hootie comes through when the hard days descend [Chorus] Fill up Hootie, fill it up right Chew's got a lucky little thunder tonight Fill up Hootie, raise it up high With a pocket full of wishes and a fire in his eye [Verse 2] He wore that sock through a county fair Won a blue-ribbon pie and a rocking chair Lost his keys, found a ten-dollar bill Hootie was laughing from the windowsill [Pre-Chorus] His friends all asked, "What makes you so sure?" Chew just winked, "Hootie's got the cure" [Chorus] Fill up Hootie, fill it up right Chew's got a lucky little thunder tonight Fill up Hootie, raise it up high With a pocket full of wishes and a fire in his eye [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] When the rent runs late and the sky turns gray Chew puts Hootie by the bed and says, "We'll find a way" A little bit of faith, a little bit of flair And one worn-out sock with a whole lot of care [Final Chorus] Fill up Hootie, fill it up right Chew's got a lucky little thunder tonight Fill up Hootie, raise it up high Let the whole wide room hear that victory cry [Outro] Chew and Hootie, side by side Lucky old sock on a carnival ride Fill it up, brother, let the good times roll Hootie's got a heartbeat and Chew's got soul
