Just a dream

Lyrics

It’s a bright Sunday morning, the sun’s painting the sky, You’re right here beside me, and the world feels just right. I whisper, “Good morning,” you smile and you say, Couldn’t ask for a better way to start my day. There’s laughter coming from the kitchen, And little footsteps running down the hall. The kids are filling every corner with life, And somehow, I have everything I want. You take my hand, and I just close my eyes, Trying to hold this feeling deep inside. If this is what forever feels like, Then I never want to say goodbye. We’re running through the sunshine, Chasing every breeze, You and me together, With our children and the dog running free. I kiss you on the cheek As we make our plans for the day, And I swear this life was written For us to live this way. Oh, I never knew that happiness Could feel this complete… Until I opened up my eyes And found you next to me. We talk about the places that we want to see, We dream about Kyoto, just you and me— Walking slow under cherry blossom skies, Watching pink petals drift right by. I bring you some breakfast, a kiss with your tea, You smile and say, “This is where I want to be.” And looking in your eyes, I already know, If I could choose forever, I’d never let you go. Then you whisper softly, Like a secret in the breeze, And sunlight dances through the trees As you’re standing next to me. You smile and say, “This moment Is all we’ll ever need.” I laugh and tell you, “You’ll always Be right here with me.” You pull me closer, And everything feels right. I wish I could stay forever Inside this perfect morning light. But somewhere in the distance, I hear a sound I know… We were running through the sunshine, Chasing every breeze, You and me together, With our children and the dog running free. But suddenly there’s silence, And the morning has turned gray. The warmth is disappearing, And I’m waking from the dream away. Oh, I thought this love was finally real… Till the sound of my alarm broke the seal I reach across the empty bed, But there’s no hand for me to hold. No laughter in the kitchen, No little footsteps down the hall. And it hits me like a storm when The morning came and took it all away, And left me here alone. I reach for you one more time, But find I'm reaching through the cold. I close my eyes and see your face, Hear your laughter one last time. For just a moment, you're still here, And everything still feels Warm. Then the silence fills the room, And I know what morning means. I never got to wake beside you, I only got to meet you in my dreams. You were everything I hoped for, Everything I wished could be… A life I wanted more than anything, But one that was never meant to be. And as the morning light comes in, There's nothing left to hold… Just the memory of a life I wish we could have known. It was only a dream.
