At AJ’s on a Friday Night

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Friday rolls around, we all know the way Meet by the old red sign at the end of the day Mara claims the corner, Dave tells his tale Sam’s got a grin and a fresh-made fail [Pre-Chorus] The bartender says, “You’re late again” We say, “Save our seats, we brought our friends” [Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday night Raise a glass and laugh till it feels just right Good friends close, and the whole room sings We make a little joy out of ordinary things At AJ’s, let the week roll by One more joke, one more round, one more try When the door swings wide and the night runs long We’re right where we belong [Verse 2] Jess tells the bartender, “You know my usual?” He points to the menu like it’s highly unusual We trade bad puns for the bowl of lime And somebody’s laughing before the punchline [Pre-Chorus] He shakes his head, but he knows our names Says, “Same crew, same jokes, same old games” [Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday night Raise a glass and laugh till it feels just right Good friends close, and the whole room sings We make a little joy out of ordinary things At AJ’s, let the week roll by One more joke, one more round, one more try When the door swings wide and the night runs long We’re right where we belong [Bridge] To the ones who made it through another week To the stories we’ll still tell next week If the world gets loud, we know our place A familiar booth and a friendly face [Final Chorus] At AJ’s on a Friday night Raise a glass and laugh till it feels just right Good friends close, and the whole room sings We make a little joy out of ordinary things At AJ’s, let the week roll by One more joke, one more round, one more try When the door swings wide and the night runs long We’re right where we belong [Outro] At AJ’s, we belong Friday night, bring everybody along
