Elephant Tap

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Raven hair falling right in my eyes Standing in the dust under warm summer skies People check the map, people check their phone I’m just locked in on the giant grey zone Big wrinkled trunk, ears fanning slow There’s only one direction that I’m gonna go My fingers start to twitch, I can't look away I gotta poke a gentle giant today! [Chorus] Black-haired dreamer with a single-track mind Leaving sanity and reason far behind Gotta stretch my arm, gotta lean right in Gonna poke the elephant right on the skin! Soft grey hide like a dusty old coat Heart thumping heavy right up in my throat Just one poke, yeah that’s my goal An elephant tap to satisfy my soul! [Verse 2] Crowd looks around, whispering "who is that guy?" With the dark black hair and the gleam in his eye? Is he gonna feed a peanut? Is he taking a shot? No, he’s aiming one finger at a very weird spot! Stepping past the fence, ignoring every sign Crossing every boundary, crossing every line Gentle little touch on the giant side Nowhere for a ten-ton beast to hide! [Outro] One poke, two poke, black hair in the breeze Big grey buddy, don't stomp me please! Mission accomplished, finger in place Big happy grin across my dark-haired face!
