The Ballad of Dirt Road Don

Lyrics

[INTRO] A warm sun, a dusty road, Uncle Daddy calls his crew, The engines hum, they take the load, Ready for the adventure due. [VERSE 1] Mark revs, Rich taps the chrome, Donna laughs, the wind at home. Alison, Darren, Mary Alice, Jee‑Oh‑Vee, Sarah, Debbie, Doug— All together, hearts in rhythm, They follow Daddy, steady and strong. [CHORUS] Riding on the sunlit lane, Breeze through trees, a perfect day. But the road, it turns to rain, Evil Gravel waits to sway. [VERSE 2] The gravel cracks, the tires squeal, The path gets rough, the riders kneel. Uncle Daddy leads, his voice a plea, “Follow me, this road we’ll see.” [CHORUS] Riding on the sunlit lane, Breeze through trees, a perfect day. But the road, it turns to rain, Evil Gravel waits to sway. [BRIDGE] CRUNCH! The stones, they shout their song, Pfffft—unsteady, all along. “Where the heck are we heading?” The crew sighs, no time for fearing. [VERSE 3] Donna steps to the front with pride, “Follow me,” her voice a guide. She weaves through stone, a path so clear, A beacon bright amid the fear. [CHORUS] Riding on the sunlit lane, Breeze through trees, a perfect day. But the road, it turns to rain, Evil Gravel waits to sway. [OUTRO] The gravel deepens, but hearts stay light, Uncle Daddy, Donna, friends unite. They ride through night, the journey's tale, A ballad of the road, and love that sails.
