I Turn Your Way

Lyrics

[Verse 1] I hear the devil walking close behind His cold breath tugging at the hem of my coat The road is black, the rain runs down my spine And every mile feels heavier to go [Pre-Chorus] Then through the wind, a voice breaks through A name I thought the dark had swallowed whole [Chorus] Jesus ahead, with Your hand reaching out Calling my name where the wild winds howl Though fear is near and my knees give way I hear You calling, I turn Your way [Verse 2] The old stone wall leans over the lane The fields lie silent beneath the hill I carry every hurt like a chain But Your steady voice is stronger still [Pre-Chorus] You call me once, You call again And something in my heart lets go [Chorus] Jesus ahead, with Your hand reaching out Calling my name where the wild winds howl Though fear is near and my knees give way I hear You calling, I turn Your way [Bridge] Take this trembling, take this shame Speak the mercy of my name One more step, then one step more Your hand is open at the door [Final Chorus] Jesus ahead, with Your hand reaching out Calling my name, and I answer now The night may press, but it cannot stay I hear You calling, I turn Your way [Outro] I hear You calling I turn Your way
