Your Postcard

Lyrics

[Verse 1] I kept your postcard by the window Where the winter afternoon turns gold Your handwriting runs across the paper Like a road I thought I’d never know [Pre-Chorus] And though the years have changed the view One quiet part of me still turns to you [Chorus] When the far horizon calls your name I will carry what we were through every change Though the tide may pull our separate ways Love leaves a mark the years cannot erase [Verse 2] The harbor bells are ringing softly A ferry draws a line across the bay I can almost hear you laughing At the rain that kept us in that day [Pre-Chorus] And though the world keeps moving on The best of us is never truly gone [Chorus] When the far horizon calls your name I will carry what we were through every change Though the tide may pull our separate ways Love leaves a mark the years cannot erase [Bridge] If there’s a place beyond the blue Where every road comes back to you I’ll meet you there with open hands And all the words I couldn’t say [Final Chorus] When the far horizon calls your name I will carry what we were through every change Though the tide may pull our separate ways Love leaves a mark the years cannot erase Love leaves a mark the years cannot erase [Outro] I kept your postcard by the window And let the morning find me there
