Where the Wildflowers Grow

Lyrics

[Verse 1] You were a rose beneath the morning sun, I was a daisy trying to become someone. You wore red like a secret you knew, I turned my petals just to look at you. The garden whispered when we met, Two little flowers the world would forget. You said, “Stay close, don’t let me go,” So I planted my roots where your wildflowers grow. [Pre-Chorus] But seasons change without asking why, Summer fades into an autumn sky. And even flowers learn to let things die, Just to bloom again beneath a different sky. [Chorus] Where the wildflowers grow, I’ll remember you, The way the morning held the drops of dew. Though the garden turns and the cold winds blow, Love leaves a seed where the wildflowers grow. [Verse 2] Your red scarf caught on the garden gate, I found it there when I came back late. The path we made has gone to green, But I still know where your footsteps have been. [Pre-Chorus] The branches bend, then they reach again, Rain comes soft after all that rain. And even hearts can learn to let things go, And make a home where the wildflowers grow. [Chorus] Where the wildflowers grow, I’ll remember you, The way the morning held the drops of dew. Though the garden turns and the cold winds blow, Love leaves a seed where the wildflowers grow. [Bridge] I don’t need to call you mine, Or keep the spring from passing by. I can bless the place we knew, And let the earth make something new. [Final Chorus] Where the wildflowers grow, I’ll remember you, The way the morning held the drops of dew. Though the garden turns and the cold winds blow, Love leaves a seed where the wildflowers grow. Where the wildflowers grow, new colors show, Love leaves a seed where the wildflowers grow. [Outro] Where the wildflowers grow, I’ll let you go.
