Cat‑Crazy Country Love

Lyrics

Twenty-eight years ago, I found my girl, Ashley walked in and she rocked my world. I thought I knew what love was all about, Then she moved in and straightened me out. Three kids later, Lord, look what we made, Somehow they survived every mess we made. One grandbaby now, and that little one’s sweet, While Ashley and I are just trying to keep our feet. [Chorus] Twenty-eight years with Ashley by my side, Through the good, the bad, and the crazy rides. Three kids, one grandkid, two dogs in the yard, Nine damn cats and a marriage battle-hardened! She says, “We need another cat,” I say, “Girl, NO!” She gives me that look and I already know. I may not always understand her point of view, But after twenty-eight years, I know when to say, “Yes, dear, you’re right too!” 😂 [Verse 2] Two dogs barking like they’re guarding Fort Knox, Nine cats staring at me like they’re counting my stocks. One’s on the couch, one’s under the bed, Three are in the kitchen and one’s on my head. Ashley says, “Honey, they’re part of the crew,” I say, “Baby, there’s more cats than there are people in this zoo!” She smiles real sweet and says, “Aren’t they cute?” I look at my wallet and think, “There goes my loot.” [Chorus] Twenty-eight years with Ashley by my side, Through every storm and every crazy ride. Three kids, one grandkid, two dogs on patrol, Nine cats running like they own my soul. We’ve laughed, we’ve fought, we’ve made it through, And somehow she still puts up with what I do. If love is a highway, we’ve driven it all, And somehow Ashley still hasn’t made me sleep in the hall! 😂 [Bridge] We’ve had our moments, we’ve had our days, We’ve watched those three kids grow in a hundred different ways. Now there’s a grandbaby bringing smiles to our face, And enough four-legged children to fill up this place. So here’s to Ashley, my better half, The woman who still laughs at my stupid ass. Twenty-eight years and I’d do it again, Even if she brings home cat number TEN! [Final Chorus] Twenty-eight years with Ashley by my side, She’s still my girl and still my ride-or-die. Three kids, one grandkid, two dogs, nine cats, A whole lotta love and a whole lotta crap! Through every laugh, every tear, every crazy night, She’s the one who makes everything feel right. Twenty-eight years, and I’m still gonna say, “Ashley, I love you more than yesterday.” [Outro] And if she asks me, “Would you do it again?” I’ll say, “Hell yes, baby… But we’re drawing the line at cat number ten.” 🐈😂
