Hootie the Lucky Sock

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Eric takes his time getting down the hall, One sock on his foot, one sock on the wall. He calls the lucky one Hootie, keeps it close at hand, Says it brings him good fortune wherever he may land. [Chorus] Oh, Hootie, Hootie, tucked away from view, Eric’s got a private little ritual to do. He grins like a king when the day goes right, His lucky sock is ready for the next big night. [Verse 2] He fills up Hootie with his spare change and keys, A movie stub, a button, and a note that says “believe.” When the pocket gets heavy, he gives it a shake, Then laughs at the treasure that he’s managed to make. [Chorus] Oh, Hootie, Hootie, tucked away from view, Eric’s got a private little ritual to do. He grins like a king when the day goes right, His lucky sock is ready for the next big night. [Bridge] Some folks keep a rabbit’s foot, some a lucky dime, Eric’s got a sock with a lifetime of good times. [Guitar Solo] [Final Chorus] Oh, Hootie, Hootie, tucked away from view, Eric’s got a private little ritual to do. He grins like a king when the day goes right, His lucky sock is ready for the next big night. Oh, Hootie, Hootie, stuffed with odds and ends, Eric says you’re lucky—and you’re one of his best friends. [Outro] Keep it close, Eric, keep it out of sight, Hootie’s on the job for another lucky night.
