His Favorite Christmas Boy

Lyrics

[Verse 1] No alarm on Christmas morning, Just the kettle and his voice. “Coffee first, or Christmas presents?” As if that’s a proper choice. I say, “There’s a third suggestion.” He leans close and gets it right. Now the kettle’s getting jealous, With its whistle sharp and bright. [Chorus] I’m his favorite Christmas boy, That’s the message on my cup. Every time he calls me “baby,” I can feel my cheeks warm up. I’m his favorite Christmas boy, And he’s my favorite man. This is how I like December, Doing nothing that we planned. [Verse 2] He puts on a Christmas movie, Says the ending’s worth the wait. I say, “They should kiss already. Why’d they leave it quite so late?” Hair swept back, he tilts his head: “You’d have kissed me by scene two.” I say, “Daddy, pause the movie. Let me demonstrate for you.” [Bridge] He knows how I take my coffee. I know when he needs a hug. It’s the little things between us That keep adding up to love. [Final Chorus] I’m his favorite Christmas boy, That’s the message on my cup. Every time he calls me “baby,” I can feel my cheeks warm up. I’m his favorite Christmas boy, And he’s my favorite man. This is how I like December, Doing nothing that we planned.
