Splashing at Sunset

Lyrics

[MALE — Soft, intimate singing] Yeah, yeah… Sun going down, but you lighting me up. Water on your skin, girl, I can't get enough. Whole city watching, but I don't see nobody… Mm, just you. [FEMALE — Soft, teasing] Then come a little closer, baby… You know I ain't running. [MALE] Nah? [FEMALE] Unless you're chasing. (Laughs) [BOTH — Whispered harmonies] Oh, oh, oh… Let the water talk… [VERSE 1 — MALE | SMOOTH MELODIC R&B] Golden hour dripping off your silhouette, Hair falling down, looking like a midnight jet. Blue-gray eyes got me caught up in the tide, One look from you and all my storms subside. Got a million-dollar view, but I'm staring at you, City full of diamonds, still you're shining right through. You splash a little water, then you laugh and run, Girl, you got me chasing you beneath the setting sun. I could buy a hundred roses, put your name in lights, But I'd rather steal a kiss on a warm October night. You ain't gotta wear a crown for me to call you queen, You're the prettiest reality inside my wildest dreams. [FEMALE — Background] Ooh, you got me falling… [MALE] And I don't wanna land. Put your heartbeat next to mine, let me take your hand. [FEMALE] Then don't let go, baby… [MALE] Never was the plan. [PRE-CHORUS — FEMALE | AIRY, SEDUCTIVE] Boy, you got me floating, Slow motion in the ocean. Every time you pull me near, I forget what I was holding. And if loving you's a current, I don't wanna find the shore. Take me deeper in your heart, Till I don't need nothing more. [CHORUS — BOTH | HUGE, CATCHY, LAYERED HARMONIES] [MALE] Wave after wave, I keep drifting into you, [FEMALE] Tide after tide, boy, I'm falling for you too. [BOTH] Splash, splash, love me like that, Pull me in close, ain't no turning back. Wave after wave, let the whole world fade, Lips on my lips while the sunlight breaks. Oh-oh-oh, let the water flow, Oh-oh-oh, baby, don't let go. [MALE] You got me drowning in a love so true. [FEMALE] And every single wave brings me closer to you. [BOTH] Wave after wave… I'm drifting into you. [VERSE 2 — FEMALE | PLAYFUL, SULTRY R&B] Boy, I see the way you looking when I turn around, Water on my shoulders, hair falling down. You say I'm your peace when the world gets loud, But tonight I wanna be the reason you tune it out. Got your chain against my skin when you pull me close, Feel your heartbeat racing, but you moving slow. All these city lights couldn't steal this glow, I got a thousand little reasons why I won't let go. Don't need a perfect moment, we can make our own, Your arms around my waist feel more like home. And when you say my name in that low, sweet tone, I swear the whole world disappears and we're alone. [MALE — Soft ad-lib] Rylee… [FEMALE] You ain't gotta say a word, I can read your eyes, Every little touch giving butterflies. Let the moon come out, let the temperature rise, Tonight I'm yours, and you're forever mine. [POST-CHORUS — RYLEE MAE × XPOLLO X | CALL AND RESPONSE] [FEMALE] Tell me, baby, can you swim? [MALE] Only if you're jumping in. [FEMALE] What if I pull you to the deep end? [MALE] Then we're going off the deep end. [FEMALE] What if the whole world disappears? [MALE] Long as you're the one that's here. [BOTH] Let it rain, let it pour, let the ocean move, I ain't afraid of the tide when I'm next to you. [VERSE 3 — MALE | MELODIC HIP-HOP / CONFIDENT RAP] Look— I built an empire, but this right here different, Ain't a business transaction when I tell you I'm committed. Everybody see the diamonds, everybody see the shine, They don't see the little moments when your fingers holding mine. We ain't perfect, we got history, we got scars beneath the surface, But you make the weight feel lighter, make the hardest days feel worth it. See, the ocean got a rhythm, and your body got a melody, I'm a student of your love, girl, you're my favorite symphony. And you know I play them keys, but you're the song I couldn't write, Till you walked into my world and put a harmony in life. I'm talking real love, slow touch, sunset in the back, You splash water in my face, I get you right back. We laughing like some kids, but our love grown, In a city full of people, found my way home. I ain't gotta be a god when it's only us two, 'Cause the best part of forever is forever with you. [BRIDGE — FEMALE LEAD | STRIPPED PIANO AND HARMONIES] [FEMALE] If the stars fall into the water, Would you catch one just for me? [MALE] I'd give you every constellation, If that's what you need. [FEMALE] And if the waves get a little stronger? [MALE] I'll be right where I'm supposed to be. [BOTH — Building harmonies] Your love is like the ocean, And I don't need saving. Every wave that carries me, Brings me where my heart's been waiting. [FEMALE — Powerful run] Ooh, I'm falling… [MALE] Then fall right here… [BOTH] Don't you ever disappear. [FINAL CHORUS — FULL BEAT DROP | HIGH-ENERGY R&B DUET] [BOTH] OUTRO
