Befor I feel

Lyrics

BEFORE I FELL Songwriter: Shadowlight [Verse 1] When love tells you everything Without a single word, When feelings hit your soul so hard You barely know who you were. When you’d give anything you have To keep that feeling alive, You hold it like a fragile flame You’re terrified it might die. [Pre-Chorus] But hidden underneath the love There was a fear I couldn’t hide. I spent so many years begging For someone to stand beside me. [Chorus] I asked the universe, “Why do I have to beg for love?” Why do I have to break myself Just to feel that I’m enough? And when nobody answered me, My love turned into hate. I stopped talking to the world— I screamed at every mistake. [Verse 2] I tried to force what wasn’t there, I chased a heart that wouldn’t stay. And every year I lost a piece Of who I was along the way. I became angry at the silence, Angry at the empty space. I didn’t want another promise, I just wanted to feel safe. [Pre-Chorus 2] Then one night I stood there empty, With nothing left to say. After all those years of waiting, I finally stopped asking why. [Chorus] I asked the universe, “What am I supposed to do?” How much of myself must disappear Before love finally comes through? And when I thought there was no answer, When I was ready to let go— Something found me in the darkness When I couldn’t find my way home. [Bridge – leise, fast geflüstert] And then… she came. No promises. No perfect words. She just smiled at me… And somehow, for the first time, I didn’t have to ask if I was loved. [Final Chorus – groß, emotional] She gave me love without asking me to bleed. She gave me warmth when I had nothing left in me. She caught me before I disappeared, Before I fell into the nothing I had carried all these years. And suddenly I understood— Love was never meant to be forced. It wasn’t hiding from me… It was waiting for me to stop fighting myself. [Outro – ruhig] There were no words. Just warmth. Just her smile. And the feeling that someone had finally caught me… before I fell.
