Pick It Up, Put It Back

Lyrics

[Chorus] I say, “What’s the plan?” You say, “Pick it up!” I say, “Where’s it go?” You say, “Put it back!” One little job, then another one done, We make this place ready for play again! [Verse 1] I tell myself, “Start with the blocks.” Stack them by color, stack them by size. I carry the crayons back to their cup, Then tuck the soft toys in their basket. [Chorus] I say, “What’s the plan?” You say, “Pick it up!” I say, “Where’s it go?” You say, “Put it back!” One little job, then another one done, We make this place ready for play again! [Verse 2] I spot one sock by the storybooks; I find its partner and match them up. I give each puzzle piece a place of its own, And check underneath for one last surprise. [Bridge] Ready? I’m ready! Quick hands, kind hands, everybody helps. I count my small wins as I go along, Then smile at the space where we can dance! [Chorus] I say, “What’s the plan?” You say, “Pick it up!” I say, “Where’s it go?” You say, “Put it back!” One little job, then another one done, We make this place ready for play again! [Outro] I’m all set—who’s ready to play?
