Funky Beat for Two

Lyrics

[Intro] DJ Kris, bring that groove around [Verse 1] You came through laughing, rain on your coat Two paper cups and a note you wrote Said, “Save me a dance when the room gets warm” Now I’m watching your smile like a weather report [Pre-Chorus] You don’t have to promise me the world tonight Just keep that easy rhythm, keep me close in sight [Chorus] My love, you got me leaning your way One little look and I’m ready to stay My love, when you call, I come through DJ Kris, play that funky beat for two [Verse 2] Your old blue jacket is here on my chair I catch your cologne when I walk by there You know how to tease, then you soften your tone And somehow this crowded room feels like our own [Pre-Chorus] No big declarations, let the moment decide Keep that easy rhythm, stay here by my side [Chorus] My love, you got me leaning your way One little look and I’m ready to stay My love, when you call, I come through DJ Kris, play that funky beat for two [Bridge] If the night runs out, let the morning wait We can talk on the steps by the garden gate Your hand finds mine, and the whole world slows That’s the kind of yes my heart already knows [Final Chorus] My love, you got me leaning your way One little look and I’m ready to stay My love, when you call, I come through DJ Kris, play that funky beat for two My love, let the good times roll Keep that sweet groove moving through my soul My love, I know what I wanna do DJ Kris, play that funky beat for two [Outro] My love, my love DJ Kris, keep it moving
