To My Lost

Lyrics

[Verse 1] I kept your blue cup by the sink Though the handle chipped and split Your coat still hangs behind the door Like you might come back for it [Pre-Chorus] I tell myself the room is fine Then turn around to find your side [Chorus] Yeah, to my lost, I say it plain I miss the way you knew my name I won’t pretend the hurt is gone Or that I’m stronger than I’ve shown Yeah, to my lost, I let you go With both hands open, letting go [Verse 2] The corner shop still knows your order Two black teas, one extra sweet I pass it every Friday now And take the longer route to leave [Pre-Chorus] Some days I almost call your phone Then set it down and let it ring [Chorus] Yeah, to my lost, I say it plain I miss the way you knew my name I won’t pretend the hurt is gone Or that I’m stronger than I’ve shown Yeah, to my lost, I let you go With both hands open, letting go [Bridge] Maybe love can end and still be true Maybe I can grieve and make it through I’ll keep the good, release the rest And give the quiet room to rest [Final Chorus] Yeah, to my lost, I say it plain I miss the way you knew my name I won’t pretend the hurt is gone But I can carry on alone Yeah, to my lost, I let you go With both hands open, letting go [Outro] Your blue cup’s gone; the shelf is bare I leave the window open there
