The Family Parade

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Ann Marie, broad as a doorway, took a stroll down Memory Lane, Ran smack into Lenny there, and sparks went off like summer rain. She’d wanted him years ago—well, years ago is here, He tipped his hat, she laughed so loud the pigeons changed their gear. [Pre-Chorus] Then the birds and bees came marching in, With a family tree and a crooked grin. One big bunch, all mixed up together— And nobody’s house stayed quiet ever! [Chorus] Oh, here come the clowns with the family parade, Tootin’ and poopin’ and plans gone astray! Rory and Holly go hopping around, While the whole household laughs at the racket they’ve found. Oh, what a crew, what a glorious mess— Love, loud memories, and bathroom distress! [Verse 2] There were toilets and stories and memories piled high, A plunger by the pantry and a spare roll standing by. Somebody yelled “Constipation!” like announcing the queen, And Lenny dropped his newspaper right into the bean. [Pre-Chorus] The birds and bees still claim their part, The cousins bring the noise and heart. A little wild, a little strange— No two days ever sound the same! [Bridge] Memory Lane has a pothole or two, A laugh in the hall and a shoe in the stew. Lenny says, “Ann, should we do this again?” She says, “Only if you bring the spare pen!” [Final Chorus] Oh, here come the clowns with the family parade, Tootin’ and poopin’ and plans gone astray! Rory and Holly go hopping around, The birds and the bees make the whole place resound. Oh, what a crew, what a glorious mess— A family built out of love and excess! [Outro] The toilet can wait. The story goes on. Ann Marie and Lenny And the clowns are still on.
