Dear Santa, We’re Dating

Lyrics

Verse 1 October, a coffee, A smile across steam. He asked, “Are you single?” I said, “Currently.” One date became Fridays, Then breakfast for two. He’s curled on my sofa; I’m writing to you. Pre-Chorus Santa, small correction To the list I sent last year: There’s a man in my kitchen, And I’d like to keep him here. Chorus Dear Santa, we’re dating, I thought you should know. He kisses me slowly Beneath the mistletoe. He calls me his boyfriend Wherever we go. Dear Santa, we’re dating, And I’m all aglow. Verse 2 His stocking is hanging Right next to mine. He’s tying red ribbons; I’m pouring the wine. “Hey, Daddy,” I tease him. “Come here, baby,” he says. There’s flour on his collar And stars in my head. Chorus Dear Santa, we’re dating, I thought you should know. He kisses me slowly Beneath the mistletoe. He calls me his boyfriend Wherever we go. Dear Santa, we’re dating, And I’m all aglow. Bridge I give him a small box, My key on red thread. “To keep?” he asks softly. “Of course,” I say, “yes.” He reads through this letter, Then signs next to me. Final Chorus Dear Santa, we’re dating, I thought you should know. He kisses me slowly Beneath the mistletoe. He calls me his boyfriend Wherever we go. Dear Santa, we’re dating, And I’m all aglow. Outro P.S. He’s staying. More news next year.
