Yea to My Lost

Lyrics

[Verse 1] I found your note inside the coat I wore through one last winter The ink had blurred along the fold But I could read the center [Pre-Chorus] I used to keep the door unlocked As if the past might wander in Now I can let the morning knock And not mistake it for a friend [Chorus] Yea to my lost, yea to the leaving Yea to the parts I thought I’d need I won’t call back what stopped believing I’ll keep the good, and let it breathe Yea to my lost, I’m still becoming With both feet planted where I stand I can miss you without running I can let go with open hands [Verse 2] Your blue cup’s gone from by the sink The chipped one stays beside me I learned that space is not a wound It’s room for life to find me [Pre-Chorus] The train still bends around the hill The afternoon still turns to gold Some things can leave and leave you whole Some doors are better closed [Chorus] Yea to my lost, yea to the leaving Yea to the parts I thought I’d need I won’t call back what stopped believing I’ll keep the good, and let it breathe Yea to my lost, I’m still becoming With both feet planted where I stand I can miss you without running I can let go with open hands [Bridge] No blame to place, no debt to pay No perfect ending owed I’ll take the years that shaped my face And set down what I can’t hold [Final Chorus] Yea to my lost, yea to the leaving Yea to the parts I thought I’d need I won’t call back what stopped believing I’ll keep the good, and let it breathe Yea to my lost, I’m still becoming With both feet planted where I stand I can miss you without running I can let go with open hands [Outro] The note can fade, the day can start I leave the light on in my heart
