[Intro] ذات يوم، كان الصحابة يجلسون مع النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال لهم: يدخل عليكم الآن رجل من أهل الجنة. فالتفتوا بلهفة، فإذا برجل بسيط من الأنصار يدخل عليهم، لا يعرف الناس عنه كثرة قيام أو صيام، ولا عملاً ظاهراً يميّزه. أراد عبد الله بن عمرو أن يعرف سرّه، فذهب إليه وقال: أيمكنني أن أبيت عندك؟ فوافق الرجل، وبات عبد الله يراقبه. فرأى أنه لم يكن كثير الصلاة في الليل، ولا كثير الصيام، ولا كثير تلاوة القرآن. كان ينام هادئ القلب، مطمئن النفس. تعجّب عبد الله، ثم سأله: ما الذي جعلك من أهل الجنة، كما بشّر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ فأجاب الرجل: ما هو إلا ما رأيت، غير أنني لا أجد في قلبي غشاً لأحد من المسلمين، ولا أحسد أحداً على نعمة أنعم الله بها عليه. فقال عبد الله: هذا هو السر الذي بلغ بك هذه المنزلة، وهو ما لا نطيق.
