Chew

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Chew rolls up at six with a clipboard grin, White boots shining while the rain rolls in. He says, “Team, today we’ll make the whole block gleam,” Brendon checks the clock; Alex sighs at the steam. [Pre-Chorus] By the curb, the hoses coil, Three hard hats and a day’s work to toil. Brendon leans to Alex: “Here we go again,” Chew points down the pipe like a captain in the rain. [Chorus] Chew, Chew, running the crew, Brendon and Alex have a job to do. City sewer jetting, all day in the muck, They can’t stand Chew—but they’re stuck on the truck. Hey! Chew, Chew, giving orders anew, Two goons grumble, then they pull through. When the pipes run clear and the street shines bright, They’ll complain about Chew all the way through the night. [Verse 2] Brendon’s got the nozzle, Alex’s got the hose, Chew calls out a checklist nobody chose. “Pressure’s looking perfect!” he declares with pride, Alex mouths “sure” while Brendon rolls his eyes. [Pre-Chorus] A stubborn drain gives one last groan, Chew says, “That’s teamwork!” like he did it alone. Brendon wipes his brow; Alex shakes his head, Then the water rushes clean beneath the street instead. [Bridge] Maybe Chew’s a pain, but the block runs right, Every drain is flowing by the end of the night. Brendon says, “Tomorrow, I’m bringing earplugs, too.” Alex laughs, “Good plan—just don’t tell Chew!” [Final Chorus] Chew, Chew, running the crew, Brendon and Alex have a job to do. [Outro] Brendon, Alex, pack the gear and go, Chew says, “Great work!” They say, “We know.”
