Getting Over Almost

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Your spare key’s still in the blue bowl By the grocery list and change You said, “Let’s not make this a thing” Then kept showing up the same I learned the shape of almost And the hour you’d call it late I’m done reading your half-sent messages Like they’re something I should save [Pre-Chorus] I kept a place for you You kept your options open Now I can see the room And I can finally close it [Chorus] I’m getting over almost, getting back to me Taking down the plans we never got to be You can keep the maybe, I don’t need the proof I’m not waiting by the door for you I was good before your name got in my phone I’ll be good again, and better on my own No hard feelings, just a clearer view I’m getting over almost—and I’m through with you [Verse 2] Your jacket’s gone from the chair now I gave it to the lost-and-found Funny how the quiet in here Doesn’t feel like something’s missing now I stopped checking if you watched me Stopped rehearsing what I’d say Turns out letting go is mostly Little choices made each day [Pre-Chorus] I kept a place for you You kept your options open Now I can see the room And I can finally close it [Chorus] I’m getting over almost, getting back to me Taking down the plans we never got to be You can keep the maybe, I don’t need the proof I’m not waiting by the door for you I was good before your name got in my phone I’ll be good again, and better on my own No hard feelings, just a clearer view I’m getting over almost—and I’m through with you [Bridge] Maybe you meant every kind thing Maybe you didn’t know what you wanted Either way, I don’t have to solve it I can leave the question unanswered [Final Chorus] I’m getting over almost, getting back to me Making room for what I know I need You can keep the maybe, I don’t need the proof I’m not waiting by the door for you I was good before your name got in my phone I’m good again, and better on my own No hard feelings, I’ve got nothing to prove I’m getting over almost—and I’m moving through [Outro] Getting back to me Getting back to me
