Alec, My Love

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Alec, your little socks are blue, One by the bed and one by the shoe. You blink at the kettle, you grin at the cat, Then fall asleep with your hand on my hat. [Chorus] Alec, Alec, little one, Morning comes and day is done. Safe in my arms, warm and sweet, Dream your dreams, my sleepy feet. [Verse 2] You tap the window when raindrops race, You make a bright world of an ordinary place. A spoon on the table, a laugh in the hall, You turn the smallest things into fun for us all. [Chorus] Alec, Alec, little one, Morning comes and day is done. Safe in my arms, warm and sweet, Dream your dreams, my sleepy feet. [Bridge] Someday those tiny hands will reach For far-off hills and sandy beach. But tonight, just close your eyes, I’ll be here when morning rises. [Final Chorus] Alec, Alec, little one, Rest beneath the quiet sun. Safe in my arms, warm and sweet, Dream your dreams, my sleepy feet. [Outro] Alec, my love, the day is through, Sleep softly; I’ll be here with you.
