Johan & Kevin – We’re Taking Over 🌟

Lyrics

WE’RE TAKING OVER Johan & Kevin [Intro – Female, softly over piano] As all the city falls asleep, a distant melody finds me. [Male, softly] Kevin, are you ready? Let’s head out. Who knows where tonight could lead? [Verse 1 – Male] We walked these streets, a camera in our hands, laughing over things that only we could see. We had no answers, just a thousand little plans, and every video showed what we could be. [Female] Now here we stand beneath the shining lights, I watch the room come suddenly alive. From the front row to the people at the back, they sing each word, their hands up to the sky. [Pre-Chorus – Female, building] And if we ever lose ourselves along the way, we’ll find each other in the songs we play. [Male] I look at you, you count us down from three— [Both] Let the whole room sing with me! [Chorus – Both, huge and euphoric] We’re taking over, taking over, all night long, nothing brings us down! We’re taking over, taking over, Johan & Kevin – hear us now! Raise your hands and let us see, a thousand lights move to the beat. We’re taking over, taking over, we’ll keep this moment, you and me! [Instrumental Dance Break – shimmering synths and piano] [Both] Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh! We’ll keep this moment, you and me! Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh! Johan & Kevin – feel the beat! [Verse 2 – Female] There’s a video with rain in every frame, where nothing happened quite the way you planned. Then Kevin laughs, and Johan does the same, too caught up to feel his freezing hands. [Male] Those are the moments that I’m holding close, when screens go dark and we’re walking home again. We talk about the things we’ll try next week, and just like that, we can’t wait to begin. [Pre-Chorus – Female] And if we ever lose ourselves along the way, we’ll find each other in the songs we play. [Male] I look at you, you count us down from three— [Both] Let the whole room sing with me! [Chorus – Both] We’re taking over, taking over, all night long, nothing brings us down! We’re taking over, taking over, Johan & Kevin – hear us now! Raise your hands and let us see, a thousand lights move to the beat. We’re taking over, taking over, we’ll keep this moment, you and me! [Bridge – stripped-back piano] [Female, intimate and soft] When the final note has faded, and the crowd has all gone home— [Male] You’ll still be right here beside me, there’s another road to roam. [Female] From the first uncertain steps we took— [Male] To the voices here tonight— [Both, building] Together we are stronger, hear our song come back to life! [Final Chorus – Both, full energy and layered harmonies] We’re taking over, taking over, all night long, nothing brings us down! We’re taking over, taking over, Johan & Kevin – hear us now! Raise your hands and let us see, a thousand lights move to the beat. We’re taking over, taking over, we’ll keep this moment, you and me! [Final Instrumental Dance Break] [Both] Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh! We’ll keep this moment, you and me! Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh! Johan & Kevin – feel the beat! [Outro – soft piano, drums and synths fade away] [Female, softly] As all the city falls asleep… [Male, softly] We sing together all the way back home. [Both, softly] We’ll keep this moment, you and me. [Short Piano Ending – let the final chord ring out slowly into silence]
