Spin

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Brendan rolled into a wedding with his boots still dusty brown, Auntie set the chai out, cousins filled the living room around. Someone found an old glass bottle, somebody cleared the floor, “Spin it once for luck,” they laughed, then spun it once more. [Pre-Chorus] It pointed at a stranger with a grin and a velvet vest, Brendan blushed, the room went quiet—then the whole place guessed. [Chorus] Spin, Brendan, spin, let the bottle decide, One sweet little kiss and a wild ride tonight. He came for the dancing, he stayed for the grin, Now there’s a baby on the way and a story to spin. Oh, Brendan, you’re gonna be a dad, The strangest good fortune this county’s ever had. [Verse 2] The men were all good sports, with a cheer for every turn, They traded jokes and wedding sweets while the kitchen candles burned. Brendan met a doctor there who laughed at the whole affair, Said, “Pregnancy takes more than a party game, my friend—let’s clear the air.” [Pre-Chorus] So they raised their cups together, let the rumor lose its steam, Brendan found a better punchline and a brand-new kind of dream. [Chorus] Spin, Brendan, spin, let the bottle decide, One sweet little kiss and a wild ride tonight. He came for the dancing, he stayed for the grin, Now there’s a baby on the way—in his tall tale again. Oh, Brendan, you’re gonna be a dad, In the story he tells, it’s the best luck he’s had. [Bridge] Years from now at family dinner, when the old joke comes around, He’ll tell it with a wink and let the laughter fill the room. No magic in a bottle, just a night he won’t forget, And the friends who made him feel at home are his favorite story yet. [Final Chorus] Spin, Brendan, spin, let the bottle decide, A room full of laughter and a kiss for the ride. He came for the dancing, he stayed for the grin, Now he’s honorary uncle to the whole crew again. Oh, Brendan, raise a glass to the gang, For the wildest wedding tale this old town ever sang. [Outro] Spin, Brendan, spin—then pass the chai around, Best kind of family is the one that you found.
