UCLA

Lyrics

[INTRO] (Cleats walking down concrete tunnel.) (Shoulder pads hitting.) (Low bass building.) This ain’t supposed to be easy. New season. New staff. New faces. Same name across the chest. UCLA. We know it’s a long road. Good. We came to walk it. Let’s go. ⸻ [HOOK] BRUINS — BREAKTHROUGH. BRUINS — ON THE RISE. Blue and gold. Stand on business. Bruin pride. No talking. Line it up. Put the ball down. Let’s ride. BRUINS! BREAKTHROUGH. BRUINS! ON THE RISE. Long season ahead. WE HERE FOR IT. UCLA. LET’S RIDE. ⸻ [VERSE 1] Nobody giving us nothing. We understand that. Every yard earned. Every first down earned. Every Saturday earned. So line it up. Put eleven across from eleven and find out who really wants it. This is UCLA football. This is Los Angeles. This is the Rose Bowl. And when we come through that tunnel, we ain’t coming out there to look good. We came to work. Hit. Get up. Next play. Hit again. Fourth quarter? Still standing. Two minutes left? Still coming. Because breakthrough ain’t a slogan. Breakthrough is work. ⸻ [HOOK] BRUINS — BREAKTHROUGH. BRUINS — ON THE RISE. Blue and gold. Stand on business. Bruin pride. No talking. Line it up. Put the ball down. Let’s ride. ⸻ [VERSE 2 — OFFENSE] Nico under center. Everybody get set. Read the defense. Make the call. Then execute. Nico Iamaleava. Arm ready. Legs ready. Pressure coming? Move. Pocket collapse? Move. Defense make a mistake? Make ’em pay for it. Wayne Knight behind him. Give him the football. Let him find daylight. No dancing. Get north. Drop the shoulder. Move the chains. Then do it again. Receivers outside. Landon Ellis. Leland Smith. Semaj Morgan. Mikey Matthews. Aidan Mizell. Marcus Harris. Everybody got a job. Block when it’s time to block. Catch when your number gets called. Fight for the extra yard. Nobody bigger than the team. ⸻ [BEAT CUT] (Pads hit.) WHO ARE WE? BRUINS. WHAT WE WANT? BREAKTHROUGH. WHERE WE GOING? UP. HOW WE GETTING THERE? WORK. U! C! L! A! UCLA! ⸻ [VERSE 3] There’ll be bad Saturdays. There’ll be injuries. There’ll be mistakes. There’ll be people saying we ain’t ready. Good. Remember it. Because this season isn’t about hype. It’s about becoming something. September. October. November. Cold games. Road games. Fourth quarters. Third-and-short. Goal line. That’s where you find out what kind of football team you got. Look at the man beside you. That’s your brother. Do your job so he can do his. Nobody quits. Nobody points fingers. Nobody runs when it gets hard. We go through it together. ⸻ [BRIDGE — LOW VOICE] It’s gonna be a long journey. We know. We here for it. It’s gonna hurt. We know. We here for it. People gonna doubt us. Let ’em. We’re not asking anybody to believe. We’re going to show ’em. ⸻ [BEAT DROP] BRUINS! BREAKTHROUGH! BRUINS! ON THE RISE! BRUINS! SHOW YOUR PRIDE! BLUE AND GOLD! LET’S RIDE! ⸻ [FINAL VERSE] Remember that year. Remember the work. Remember the mornings when nobody was watching. Remember the weight room. Remember the film. Remember getting hit. Remember getting back up. Nico— lead ’em. Knight— run it. Receivers— go get it. O-line— move somebody. Defense— hunt. Special teams— change the game. Coaches— lead. Everybody got a responsibility. Because UCLA doesn’t need one man trying to be the hero. We need a football team. Eleven together. Sideline together. Locker room together. One purpose. And when adversity comes— don’t flinch. When the fourth quarter comes— don’t flinch. When somebody hits you first— HIT BACK WITH THE NEXT PLAY. This ain’t Hollywood. This ain’t a movie. Nobody knows the ending. We gotta write it. ⸻ [FINAL HOOK — STADIUM CHANT] BRUINS! BREAKTHROUGH! BRUINS! ON THE RISE! BRUINS! BRUIN PRIDE! LONG ROAD— WE HERE FOR IT! HARD ROAD— WE BUILT FOR IT! BLUE! GOLD! U! C! L! A! BRUINS! LET’S RIDE!
